DUSHANBE, July 19, 2011, Asia-Plus — Police officers found the body of 56-year-od resident of Hissar district, H.K., without signs of a violent death at a bus stop in Khujand, Sughd province Monday (July 18) morning.

Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for the Ministry Interior (MoI), says medical examination has shown that H.K. died when 20 of the wraps of drugs he ingested burst.  

The peddler had ingested 98 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 310 grams, the spokesman said.

Tajik law enforcement authorities consider that the peddler was going to travel to one of cities of the Russian Federation with drugs in his stomach.  Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
