DUSHANBE, January 17, 2012, Asia-Plus  — The Dushanbe mayor’s office will donate two-room apartments to athletes from Dushanbe who will win Olympic gold in London, Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, said.

Silver medalists will receive 45,000 somoni each and bronze medalists will receive 35,000, the spokesman said.

We will recall that the 2012 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad or “London 2012 Olympic Games”, are scheduled to take place in London, England, United Kingdom from July 27 to August 12, 2012. The 2012 Summer Paralympic Games will be the fourteenth Paralympics and will take place between 29 August 2012 and 9 September 2012 at the Summer Olympics venues in London.

Athletes from 204 NOCs are expected to participate.  The 2012 Summer Olympic program features 26 sports and a total of 39 disciplines. The 2012 Paralympic Games program has 20 sports and 21 disciplines.
