DUSHANBE, March 13, 2012, Asia-Plus — Tajik Embassy in Brussels jointly with Tajik Diaspora in France and the Nowruz Association in France will organize celebrations to mark International Navrouz Day at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on March 25, the Tajik MFA information department reports.

Besides, the Tajik Embassy in cooperation with diplomatic missions of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan in Brussels will organize celebrations to mark International Navrouz Day in the Palais de Colonies in Brussels on March 21.

Senior representatives from the European Union, diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels, NATO and other international organizations, as well as internationally known political, financial and scientific figures will attend the event, the source said.

He added that the Tajik Embassy in Brussels also plans to celebrate Navrouz holiday jointly with Society of Tajiks of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg on March 24.  The event will take place in the National Hall of the Tajik Embassy in Brussels.  

The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution on February 18, 2010 declaring March 21 International Navrouz Day.  In September 2009, the UN”s cultural agency, UNESCO, included Navrouz in its list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
