The Board of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has reduced the compulsory reserve level for deposits.

According to the NBT’s press service, the compulsory reserve level for national currency deposits was reduced by two percents and by one percent for foreign currency deposits.

Hence, the compulsory reserve level for national currency deposits now makes 5.0% per annum and 8.0% per annum for foreign currency deposits.

NBT said the decision is aimed to ensure liquidity of the country’s banking system and ensure stability of monetary aggregates in circulation.

“Thus, starting from April 1st this year all related calculations in compulsory reserves will be carried out on the basis of this decision,” NBT said.
