editor-in-chief Bakhtiyor Hamdamov yesterday visited Tajik Migration Service’s office in Moscow, the Migration Service press center reports.

The role of the PDP in the social and political life of the country and work with Tajik nationals working in the Russian Federation as well as the current migration situation in Russia were a major topic of the meeting.

The meeting participants also discussed further cooperation in work with Tajik labor migrants working in the Russian Federation.

On the same day, Latipov and Astor Odinayev, head of the Migration Service’s office in Moscow, visited Tver oblast to get acquainted with life conditions of Tajik labor migrants working in the area.  In Tver, they also met with Muqim Maybaliyev, head of the Tajik Diaspora in Tver oblast.

We will recall that representatives of the ruling party stared a wee-long visit to the Russian Federation at the end of last week.   Asror Latipov and Bakhtiyor Hamdamov are holding a number of meetings with Tajik labor migrants working in the Russian Federation.

Their visit to Russia will last until June 16 and the main purpose of the visit is for them to get acquainted with problems facing Tajik migrant workers in Russia and propagate PDP’s ideas among them.

During their stay in the Russia, Latipov and Hamdamov will visit Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tver Oblast.

Founded in 1993, the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan is the biggest political party in Tajikistan.  Its chairman is President Emomali Rahmon.  The party controls some 70 percent of seats in the lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of the parliament.  It is the largest party, boasting more than 160,000 registered members.  The official newspaper of the party is
