DUSHANBE, June 22, 2012, Asia-Plus – The Tajik authorities reportedly intend to name one of nameless peaks in the Pamirs in honor of the XVI session of the Shuroi Oli (Supreme Council) of Tajikistan.

A source at the Association for Development of Tourism Industry (ADTI) says the 5,600-meter peak will be named after the 20th anniversary of the XVI session of the Shuroi Oli of Tajikistan.  “An international mountaineering expedition to ascend to the peak is expected to take place approximately from July 22 to August 22,” he added.

The government, however, has not yet adopted a decree on naming the peak after the 20th anniversary of the XVI session of the Shuroi Oli of Tajikistan the 20th anniversary of the XVI session of the Shuroi Oli of Tajikistan.  The decree is expected to be adopted just ahead of the expedition, the source added.
