DUSHANBE, June 22, 2012, Asia-Plus — On Thursday June 21, Mr. Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) met here with Mr. Amjad Hussain B. Sial, Pakistani Ambassador to Tajikistan, the CCI press center reports.
In the course of the talks, the sides reportedly discussed issues related to economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan and exchange of business information between the two countries.
Pakistani diplomat noted that the 7th Expo Pakistan would take place in Karachi from October 4-7 this year and he invited the Tajik delegation to attend the exhibition.
Expo Pakistan is the biggest trade fair in Pakistan, showcasing the largest collection of Pakistan”s export merchandise and services. Foreign exhibitors, from neighboring countries, also use this platform to launch their products not only in Pakistan but also capitalize on the presence of international trade visitors from across the globe. Held annually in the month of October, the four day Expo Pakistan has become the primary sourcing point for a large number of businesses worldwide, giving them a head start on the buying and ordering for coming seasons.
First held in 2005, the success of last Expo Pakistan in 2011 was manifested by the participation of a large number of local and foreign buyers who settled business deals estimated at US$ 518million as compared to deals estimated at US$ 80 million, the year before.
Expo Pakistan is expected to provide opportunity for the participants to meet the international buyers and enhance country’s goodwill in the global trade. Exhibitors will showcase their products which includes home textile, carpets & rugs, handicrafts & furniture, marble & granite, cement products, bags & martial art products, fabric & apparel, surgical & pharma, men”s, women”s & children”s wear, fashion accessories, surgical equipment, diagnostic equipment, hospital beds & wheel chairs, medical disposables, herbal medicines, gems & jewelry, computer software & hardware, communication equipment and electronic goods.
