DUSHANBE, June 28, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Head of Agroinvestbonk, which is one of leading lenders in Tajikistan, has been replaced.

An official source at Agroinvestbonk says an annual meeting of shareholders of Agroinvestbonk took place on June 23 and Farrukh Taghoymurodov was relieved of his post of chairman of the bank.  He was replaced by Alisher Soliyev,

formerly head of the foreign investments department at the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT)

.  Alisher Soliyev is the son of the ex-head of Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan Hakim Soliyev.

Meanwhile, Agroinvestbonk’s official website reports the meeting endorsed the annual financial statement of the bank for 2011.  The meeting also approved Grant Thornton Tajikistan as audit for Agroinvestbonk’s activities in 2012.

The meeting also considered a number of organizational issues.

Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 61 other branches across the country.   Agroinvestbonk is one of the leading providers of finance to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the agricultural sector in Tajikistan.  Through its substantial rural network it reaches out beyond the capital Dushanbe, to areas where access to finance remains difficult for private entrepreneurs.
