DUSHANBE, June 28, 2012, Asia-Plus  — A roundtable to discuss problems and prospects of cooperation between the public institutions and independent bodies in protecting intellectual property is taking place in Dushanbe tomorrow.

Organized by Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and the National Patent Information Center under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the meeting is expected to consider issues related to ensuring protection of intellectual property, fight against piracy and counterfeit products as well as Tajik enterprises’ getting into the external market, providing access to modern technologies and expansion of trade and economic cooperation with other countries.

An official source at CCI says that for admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Tajikistan must bring its intellectual property legislation into compliance with the WTO trade-related aspects of intellectual property rights.
