DUSHANBE, July 28, Asia-Plus – A statement of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, posted on the website of the national news agency Khovar on July 28, says that on July 24, at around 3:30 am, before the beginning of the military operation, a group of armed persons took five members of the investigation group of the Prosecutor-Genera’s Office hostage.  This group arrived in Khorog to investigate the murder of General Abdullo Nazarov.  According to Khovar, the hostages were released.  No details were given

The Prosecutor-General’s Office also says that 17 government troops have been killed and 40 others have been wounded during the military operation in Khorog.  Besides, one civilian has been killed during the operation, the statement says.
