DUSHANBE, June 17, 2013, Asia-Plus – Leaders of Iran and Tajikistan may change but relations between these two really fraternal nations will remain strategic because they share a common history, culture, language and religion.

The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri, who is also member of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament, said this while commenting on the results of the presidential election in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

“During the Hassan Rouhani administration, relations between Tajikistan and Iran will remain good and they will develop in all spheres,” Kabiri said.

“In his election program, Hassan Rouhani promised to change spectrum of Iran’s foreign policy and improve relations with Western nations.  That is probably why there is a certain decline in Iran’s relations with Eastern nations,” Kabiri noted.
