DUSHANBE, September 2, 2013, Asia-Plus – Dushanbe International Airport imposed restrictions on takeoff and landing of aircrafts due to reconstruction of runways.

Dushanbe International Airport spokesperson, Mahmadyousuf Shadiev, told Asia-Plus that the runway is closed everyday between 12 and 17 until all the works are completed. The exact date of removal of restriction is not said yet. Accordingly, many of the daytime flights will take place at night.

According to Mr. Shadiev, the runway reconstruction is done by a French company, Vinci S.A., which is building the new terminal of the Dushanbe International Airport.

Mr. Shadiev said: “The French company is going to widen the runway, because it is calculated for TU-154. After the reconstruction the runway will be suitable for larger Boeings and other cargo planes.”
