DUSHANBE, September 12, 2013, Asia-Plus – Shadi Shabdalov, Leader of the Communist Party, Member of lower chamber of Parliament, stated in an interview to Asia-Plus that presidential candidate Aynihal Babanazarova, who was recently announced as the Union of Reformist Forces candidate, always had her political positions and was distinguished with her non-radical views.

According to him, Ms. Babanazarova never moves between various political movements, is critical on many issues to the current government, and therefore is not liked by the ruling élites of the country.

The Communist Party Leader said: “Babanazarova’s candidacy may create a serious alternative to the current president of Tajikistan.”

Mr. Shabdalov further stated that despite this, the Communist Party is not going to support Ms. Babanazarova’s candidacy in the presidential elections.

Mr. Shabdalov concluded: “We are going for elections with our own platform and our own candidate for president.”
