DUSHANBE, October 23, 2013 Asia-Plus — The Interior Ministry traffic police directorate is carrying out special events from October 22 to October 31 across the country to prevent violation of traffic safety rules among youth and teenagers.

A statement released by the Interior Ministry traffic police directorate says a special attention will be given to students who drive to universities.

Representatives of media and the public will participate in these events along with traffic police officers, the statement notes.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon ordered the ban on phones, cars, and parties in late March 2007.  Shortly after this, Traffic police appeared outside university buildings in Dushanbe to punish students who drove to universities.
