DUSHANBE, November 12, 2013, Asia-Plus – An international industrial exhibition, dubbed Tajikistan-2013, is being held in Dushanbe.

According to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Tajikistan, the exhibition is organized within the framework of an agreement on cooperation between Tajikistan’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Mines (ICCIM).

30 Iranian companies are reportedly participating in a five-day exhibition that kicked off at the Kokhi Borbad State Complex in Dushanbe on November 12.

They have put on display their achievements in sectors like farm produce processing, engineering and construction technologies, production of medicines, air purifiers and water purification systems, compact generators, and jewelry at the fair that will run through November 16.

The main objective of the exhibition is in attracting foreign investments and advanced technologies for development of Tajikistan’s economy, seeking new partners, launching joint ventures and creating new jobs, an official source at a CCI told Asia-Plus in an interview.

On the sidelines of the exhibition, Tajik and Iranian entrepreneurs are expected to hold a meeting in Dushanbe to discuss state and prospects of further expansion of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Over the first nine months of this year, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Iran has reportedly amounted to 229 million U.S. dollars, which is 33 percent more than in the same period last year.
