DUSHANBE, December 17, 2013, Asia-Plus — Over the first eleven months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to more than 4.8 billion U.S. dollars, which was 104.1 percent of the January-November 2012 level or 189.1 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
The trade balance was negative and amounted to some 2.7 billion U.S. dollars.
Exports of goods in January-November this year have amounted to more than 1 billion U.S. dollars, which was 12.9 percent, or 160.2 million U.S. dollars, fewer than in the same period last year.
Imports of goods into the country over the same eleven-month period have amounted to more than 3.7 billion U.S. dollars, which was 10.3 percent, or some 350 million U.S. dollars, more than in January-November last year.
In January-November this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 97 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.
In January-November 2013, Tajikistan’s major trading partners were: Russia – some 918 million U.S. dollars; China – 630 million U.S. dollars; Kazakhstan – 628 million U.S. dollars, and Turkey – some 620 million U.S. dollars, the Agency for Statistics said.
