DUSHANBE, December 17, 2013, Asia-Plus — Two Tajik athletes have won two gold and two silver medals at the IX World Kurash Senior Championships that took place in Istanbul, Turkey from December 12 to December 16, 2013.

Komronsho Ustopiriyon finished first in the -90 kg category.  In final, he defeated Iranian wrestler Ali Mohammadniya.

Saidjalol Saidov won gold medal in the -81kg category.  In final, he defeated Uzbek wrestler Bektosh Safarov.

Besides, Ismoil Boymurodov (-66kg category) and Muhammadmurod Abdurahmonov (the weight category of over 100 kg) won silver medals for Tajikistan.

Wrestlers from 50 countries of the world reportedly participated at IX World Kurash Senior Championships in Istanbul.

Kurash is one of the Turkic terms for “wrestling” and specifically refers to a number of folk wrestling styles practiced in Central Asia.
