DUSHANBE, July 2, 2014, Asia-plus — On Tuesday July 2, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov met in London with Baroness Warsi PC, Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister for Faith and Communities.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, the sides discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom Senior and opportunities for further expansion of bilateral cooperation.
They also discussed a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest, including the current situation in Afghanistan and the Central Asian region, the source said.
The meeting reportedly resulted in signing of an agreement between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom on avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect
to taxes on income and capital.

From May 2010 to September 2012 she was the Co-Chairperson of the Conservative Party, along with Lord Feldman, and a Minister without Portfolio in David Cameron”s Cabinet. She was the first Muslim to serve in a British Cabinet, the third Muslim minister and the first female Muslim to serve as a minister in the United Kingdom. She was appointed Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Minister for Faith and Communities on September 4, 2012.
