DUSHANBE, November 21, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) hosted parliamentary hearings on November 21 to discuss Tajikistan’s national strategy for the outward labor migration of Tajik citizens for the period of 2011-2015.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, says the meeting participants included deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon, Deputy Prime Minister Marhabo Jabbori and senior representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.

Speaking  the meeting, the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov noted that more than one million Tajik citizens are in Russia seeking better employment opportunities.  

The meeting participants reportedly proposed to set up  the support center for labor migrants, intensify work on preventing illegal recruitment of labor migrants and make work with Tajik Diasporas in the Russian Federation more active.
