DUSHANBE, June 23, 2015, Asia-Plus — Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Sherali Mirzo, today morning left for the northern province of Sughd to get acquainted with service and living conditions of officers and soldiers of the Sughd military garrison, Faridoun Mahmadlaiyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

While in Sughd, the minister will also get acquainted with preparation of military units deployed in the area for summer military training that will start on July 1.

“The minister will visit practically all military units deployed in the province and will hold meetings with officers and soldiers,” the spokesman said, noting the defense minister’s visit to Sughd will last until the end of this week.
