DUSHANBE, July 30, 2015, Asia-Plus — A new microdistrict will be erected in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).

According to the Tajik president’s official website, President Emomali Rahmon today took part in a ceremony to lay the cornerstone of a new microdistrict of Khorog that will be built on 260 hectares.

One million somoni have been allocated for geological and hydro-geological explorations as well as construction of flood protection embankment alone.

The president’s website said the new microdistrict will have 4-, 5- and 9-story apartment buildings, schools, kindergartens, sports center, hospitals, consumer services centers and bank branches.
