Dushanbe. 19 August. “Asia Plus” — The volume of external trade turnover of Tajikistan in January-July this year in comparison with the same period last year has reduced by almost 20%.

As reported at the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, total volume of external trade turnover of the republic in the first seven months of this year have reached $ 2 billion 426.6 million. That is $ 589.5 million less than the same period last year.

Tajikistan”s trade turnover has decreased by 25% because of the imported products.

According to Satat agency, for seven months of this year imported goods have worth about $ 1.9 billion, that is $ 621 million less than the volume of January-July last year.

The reduction of turnover of Tajikistan is due to reduction in trade turnover with China (21%), Kazakhstan (13.8%) and Russia (8.6%), which are major trading partners of the republic.

The trade balance of Tajikistan for the first seven months of the year was negative and amounted to $ 1.3 billion.

Meanwhile, exporting goods in this period amounted to $ 560 million. That is 6.1% or $ 32 million more than in January-July 2014.

The main trade partners of Tajikistan in the first quarter of this year were Russia ($ 628 million.), Kazakhstan ($ 405 million.), China ($ 342 million.), Switzerland ($ 209 million.), Turkey ($ 207 million.), Jamaica ($ 155 million.) and Iran ($ 106m.).
