Dushanbe. 3 September. “Asia Plus” — A Known Tajik boxer Jahon Kurbonov struggled through to the semi-final of the Asian Championship, which takes place in Bangkok (Thailand), said the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.

The report says that Jahon Kurbanov has reached the semifinal after two victories over rivals from Korea and Pakistan in the weight category up to 91 kg.

It is noted that in the semi-final on Friday, on September 4, Tajik boxer will meet with the Kazakh boxer.

The NOC of RT emphasize that even if Jahon Kurbonov lose in the semi-finals, he will get the bronze medal of the Asian Championship.

Asian Championship in Bangkok is attended by 188 athletes from 28 countries; it is record in the history of the continental championship.

In the report of NOC of Tajikistan it is noted that the boxers, who will take 1-5 places in this tournament in the weight category up to 91 kg, get the right to participate at the World Cup, which will be held on October 5-18 in Qatar.
