Dushanbe. 8 September. “Asia Plus” — Kyrgyz border guards detained an Austrian citizen at the border with Tajikistan, who violated the state border regime, reports Kyrgyz media with the reference to the State Border Service (SBS) of Kyrgyz Republic.

“The border guards of Osh Border Detachment, for violation of the state border, detained a citizen of Austria, who with the help of unmanned aircraft shoot a movie in the Sary-Tash village of Alay district of Osh region”, – said the Head of Public Relations and Mass Media of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Borubaeva.

According to her, previously the Austrian has entered the territory of Kyrgyzstan from Tajikistan. “He legally entered the Republic, but unauthorized filming of sensitive sites, as well as being in a border area without permits is a serious violation of the law of the country”, – said Borubaeva.

According to the GPS of Kyrgyzstan, the detainee was handed over to the State Committee of National Security, who will be engaged in the investigation of incident.

The ministry reported that in connection with the situation in Tajikistan the GPS units on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border area have been transferred into a stronger version of border security: put extra border clothes, increased the measures of own safety.

The length of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border is about 1 thousand kilometers. After the collapse of the Soviet the states cannot agree on the fate of more than 70 disputed areas. In recent years, on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan have been several armed incidents, the major cause of which is the uncertainty in the line of the state border.
