The head of the Committee of emergency situations and civil defense under the government of Tajikistan Lieutenant-General Rustam Nazarzoda on August 31 held a meeting of the Group of rapid assessment and coordination in emergency situations (REACT) with the participation of the representatives of international organizations accredited in the Republic.

As reported the chief of the press center of CoES and civil defense of the country Umeda Yusupova, on the agenda were marked the issues of the development, consolidation and the strategy of cooperation between Tajikistan and the international community, were discussed and adopted decisions on methodologies in the assessment of damages and needs, were determined conditions for the international humanitarian assistance in emergency situations in the Republic of Tajikistan from the direction of international organizations accredited on the territory of our country.

In his speech R. Nazarzoda noted that "the consolidation of forces and capabilities in case of natural disasters and helping those who need must be our motto in our joint work".

The head of the CoES and CD of the country has informed the participants about emergencies that occurred since the beginning of 2016. He noted that from January to date 45 natural disasters were in our country, as the result 18 people were killed.

In the framework of strengthening and strategy of cooperation between Tajikistan and the international community, the head of CoES offered participants this year to celebrate the International day on reduction of danger of natural disasters, which is annually celebrated in the world on 13 October, by holding prophylactic-explanatory works in secondary schools and universities of the country with the involvement of the media.
