With the aim of strengthening friendly relations and cooperation in education and science, the delegation of teachers and students of the Kuwait University of Kuwait has visited Sughd region.

During the visit the delegation of the Kuwait University, headed by the Deputy Dean of history department of the University Abdulhadi al-Ajmi, has visited Khujand State University named after academician B. Gafurov.

As reported the head of information-analytical center of KSU Maymuri Yusufzoda, the delegation of the Kuwait University consisting of 8 teachers and two students of the University was warmly greeted by the rector of KSU Anwar Maksudi, the Dean of the faculty of Oriental languages Umeda Gafforova, faculty and students.

 The rector of KSU Anwar Maksudi in his welcome speech called the visit of scientists, teachers and students of the Kuwait University a good omen, and expressed hope that their visit will assist in the development of scientific and educational cooperation of universities. According to the rector of KSU, one of the areas of cooperation may be the joint work of teachers of the faculties of history and Oriental languages with the teachers from the Kuwait University for the preparation and publication of a series of non-fiction books about the history and culture of Tajiks. "Arabic is one of the world's languages, and through such publications Arab world will be more knowledgeable about the history of Tajik people", – said A. Maksudi.

In turn, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation, Abdulhadi al-Ajmi thanked the University management for the warm reception and noted that they are in Tajikistan at the invitation of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the purpose of their visit is research and presentation of rich ancient and modern history of Tajik people. "We learned that your institution is twice as old as our University and it has a rich history. In the future we will make efforts to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between our universities. We have a common culture and our future plans are to introduce Arab world with centuries-old historical heritage of Tajik people through joint research and publication of Arabic language books," – he said.

The rector of KSU Anwar Maksudi presented the guests with the gifts, and also presented them with the book of the academician Bobojon Gafurov "Tajiks" in English. The students of faculty of Oriental languages presented cultural program to the guests, during which the youth performed songs in Arabic and Tajik languages.

Note that before the visit to Sughd oblast, the delegation of the Kuwait University was in Samarkand and Bukhara of neighboring Uzbekistan.

According to M. Yusufzoda, after sightseeing of Khujand city, the guests will travel to historic sites of Sarazm and Penjikent, as well as will participate in the festive events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Tajikistan in Dushanbe.

Recall that in May this year, within the framework of the official visit to Kuwait, the leader of the nation, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has also visited the Kuwait University. During the meeting with the teachers and students of this University was presented the fourth volume of Emomali Rahmon’s book "Tajiks in the mirror of history" in Arabic language.
