Over the first nine months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power, has amounted to 2.895 billion U.S. dollars, which was 92.1 percent of the January-September 2015 level or 250 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance in January-September this year has been negative and amounted to 1.555 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods over the report period have reportedly amounted to 672 million U.S. dollars, which was 0.5 percent or 3.1 million USD more than in the same period last year.

Over the same nine-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to more 2.222 billion U.S. dollars, which was 10.2 percent or 253 million USD less than in January-September, 2015.

Over the first nine months of this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 108 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the report period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – more than 764 million USD (a 9.3 percent decline compared to January-September, 2015); China – 700 million USD (a 3.2 percent increase compared to January-September, 2015); Kazakhstan – 4587 million USD; Turkey – 224 million USD; Switzerland – 104 million USD; etc.   

Meanwhile, Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has fallen 33 percent over the past two years.
