On Friday October 21, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received the Minister of Energy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroues.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, they discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.

The two sides reportedly noted that there was considerable room for expansion of trade and economic cooperation.

They also exchanged issues related to attraction of UAE’s investments in Tajikistan’s economy, supply of Tajikistan’s fruits and vegetables to UAE, expansion of cooperation in the field of labor migration.

Tajik President especially invited UAE investments in hydropower, transportation, agriculture and mining.

Besides, Tajik president and UAE minister discussed establishment of a joint investment fund and Tajikistan-UAE Commerce Council as well as opening of a representative office of one of UAE banks in Tajikistan.

Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroues heading UAE delegation arrived in Tajikistan for participation in the Tajikistan-UAE investment forum.
