Sri Lank Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) reports Tajik President Emomali Rahmon is scheduled to visit Kandy today.

The delegation headed by Tajikistan President will visit Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy Museum and Peradeniya botanical gardens.

The Tajikistan President leaves the country this evening after attending the business summit in Kandy. The Tajikistan President is expected to discuss the work plans with regard to trade and investment opportunities with the business community of Sri Lanka, according to SLBC.

Kandy is a major city in Sri Lanka, located in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka.  Kandy is second only to Colombo as the center of the Sri Lankan economy.  It is the second-largest city of the island and the capital of Central Province of Sri Lanka.  Many major corporations have large branch offices in Kandy and many industries include textiles, furniture, information technology and jewelry are found there.  Many agriculture research centers are located throughout the city.
