One person was killed and another was injured in a traffic accident that took place in Dushanbe on July 30, according to the Interior Ministry press center.

The accident occurred in the afternoon in Dushanbe’s Vodonasosnaya area.

The 24-year-old resident of Dushanbe, Odiljon Sharipov, reportedly lost control of his Mercedes-Benz and hit two pedestrians.

The pedestrians sustained various injuries and were taken to a hospital.  One of them died in hospital, the press center said. 

According to the statistic data from the Interior Ministry, 591 traffic accidents have been reported in the country over the first six months of this year.  194 people were killed and 623 others were injured in those accidents.
