A mass brawl that took place on the bank of the Dushanbinka River in Dushanbe ends in murder.

The brawl involving six young men, including students of the Tajik Medical University and the Dushanbe Medical College, took place on October 11, the Interior Ministry’s website reported on October 20.

The brawl reportedly followed quarrel between two students of the Tajik Medical University, Dilshod Qurbonaliyev and Qurbon Karimov.

Qurbonaliyev came with his friends Muzaffar Kholiqov and Samandar Jonmahmadov (both are students of the Dushanbe Medical College) while Karimov came with his friends Farruukh Karmov and Parviz Sayfulloyev.

During the brawl, Jonmahmadov inflicted a fatal stab wounds on Farrukh Karimov, the Interior Ministry’s press center said.  

After the incident, Samandar Jonmahmadov purchased ticket for Moscow but was detained by officers of the police station of Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district.  

Criminal proceedings have been instituted an investigation is under way.
