Tajik central bank’s gold bars reportedly rise 3 percent in prices

The cost of gold bars being sold by the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) has reportedly risen nearly 3 percent since the beginning of this year.  Current price for a five-gram gold bar is little more than 2,070 somoni, according to the Tajik central bank press center.

On February 21, the National bank of Tajikistan set the price for the 5-gram gold bar at 2,070.10 somoni.  The price for the 5-gram gold bar for repurchase was reportedly set at 2,049.40 somoni.

At the beginning of this year, Tajik central bank was selling the 5-gram gold bar for 2,010.55 and repurchasing it for 1,990.44 somoni.

Accordingly, the price of gold bars being sold by the National bank of Tajikistan has risen 2.9 percent since the beginning of the year.  

In addition to the 5-gram gold bars, Tajik central bank is also selling 10-, 20-, 50- and 100-gram gold bars.

Since January 1, 2018, the price for the 10-gram gold bar has risen 3 percent and prices for 20-, 50- and 100-gram gold bars have risen 3.1 percent.
