Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Tajikistan in mid-June, an official source in the Tajik government told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, Chinese leader’s visit is expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation documents between Tajikistan and China in the fields of commerce, finance, security, culture and education.

He further added that it could not be ruled out that the issue of attraction of Chinese investment and technologies in construction of the Roghun hydropower plant would be discussed during the talks of the leaders of the two countries.

During Xi’s state visit to Tajikistan, presentation of his book on governance will take place in Dushanbe.  In April this year, the book was translated into Tajik.

While in Dushanbe, President Xi will also participate in a summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) that took place in the Tajik capital on June 14-15.
