The Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan has begun registration of Tajik students who study at foreign universities and cannot leave due to the suspension of air traffic.

The ministry's website says that the registration of students will be handled by the Center for International Programs under the ministry.

«We ask students who entered higher educational and research institutions abroad in the 2020-2021 academic year, and students who came to the Republic of Tajikistan on holidays and were unable to return to foreign universities due to the pandemic and the closure of borders, send the necessary information to e-mail address of the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science [email protected]» – reported on the ministry's website.

The Ministry of Education and Science asks in the appeal to indicate the name of the student, the name of the educational institution, the course of study and the specialty.

The Civil Aviation Agency of Tajikistan reported that the date of organizing flights for the export of Tajik students studying abroad is not yet known.

«The decision is made by the Republican Headquarters for Countering the Spread of Coronavirus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan in coordination with the relevant structures of foreign countries. Negotiations are underway, but the final decision has not yet been made»,- reported in the agency.
