The Government of China will provide 55,000,000 yuans (equivalent to more than 8.5 million U.S. dollars) in no-strings aid to Tajikistan for construction of a base of the Interior Ministry’s Special Rapid Response Unit (SOBR).

The exchange letters of the parties, sent by the Tajik Government to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) for ratification, in particular, say that the Government of China has agreed to provide support for implementation of this project.  

The project reportedly involves construction of twelve buildings, including office, dormitory, canteen, security building and other premises as well as water tank and two watchtowers.

A total area of the complex will be 3,550 square meters.
