In honor of the 30th anniversary of US-Tajik relations, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, in partnership with Asha Cultural Center, announces the launch of the Battle of the Bands music competition among professional and amateur musicians in Tajikistan.

The US Embassy in Dushanbe says applications are accepted from February 16 to March 16.

To participate, anyone who has reached the age of 15 needs to record a video where he or she, solo or as part of a group, performs a live cover of any American song, either with musical accompaniment or not.

Those wishing to participate in the competition must submit their applications to the email address: [email protected].

A panel of judges will evaluate the contestants’ performance skills, English proficiency, and artistry (charisma).  Ultimately, 10 contestants will be selected for the final musical battle. Solo performers will be accompanied by musicians from the Avesto group.

The top three winners of the competition will receive prizes and take part in a concert tour around the cities of Tajikistan.
