Kazakhstan denies information that UK is buying weapons from Kazakhstan to supply them to Ukraine as absolutely unfounded.

In a statement released on August 10, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan   (MoIID) says information disseminated through Kaznet says the United Kingdom (UK) is buying weapons from Kazakhstan to supply them to Ukrainian territory. The transaction is allegedly done with the intermediation of Tekhnoexport Company and a US$46 million contract was concluded on July 16, 2022.

A MoIID says it is an authorized body in the field of export control.

“In accordance with the law on the export control, export and import of arms ammunition and military equipment is carried out on the basis of licenses granted by the ministry,” the MoIID statement says

In 20221 and for the past period 2022, Tekhnoexport Company did not apply to the ministry for license for the export of arms and ammunition and military equipment.

Besides, over the reporting period, the ministry has not issued licenses on the export of arms ammunition and military equipment to the United Kingdom, according to the statement.
