On the Tajik-Kyrgyz border at the Kyzyl-Bel checkpoint, negotiations were held to resolve the border situation. As a result, another protocol was signed – on the termination of the border conflict between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The document was signed by the heads of the State Committee for National Security of the two countries – Saimumin Yatimov and Kamchybek Tashiev.

«They expressed hope that the points of the signed agreement would be implemented and peace and mutual understanding would be restored on the border of the two countries», – said in the message of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.

«Today we signed the protocol that can be called demilitarization. Measures were taken, they are reflected in the documents, now they only need to be observed. We also held talks on the sidelines and agreed that there should be no more conflicts on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border in any way», – Saimumin Yatimov told journalists after signing the protocol.

He also called on the media, bloggers and politicians to “be careful with the use of words and terminology when covering events at the border”.
