President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on his 70th birthday and wished him all the best.

The Tajik president’s official website says that in his message of congratulations that was sent to Vladimir Putin Friday morning, Emomali Rahmon, in particular, says: “As a strong, wise and strong-willed leader, you are distinguished by determination to defend national interests of your country.  In this regard, I would like to note your huge contribution to development and prosperity of Russia as well as strengthening its position in the international arena.” 

Tajik leader also noted in his message of congratulations that Tajikistan values the achieved level of strategic partnership with Russia.  

Rahmon also wished Putin good health, happiness, long life and new achievements in the name of well-being of Russia and wished Russian people peace and sustainable progress.  

Recall, Emomali Rahmon celebrated his 70th birthday on October 5 and on this occasion, Vladimir Putin awarded him the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 3rd Class “for a great personal contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan as well as to the provision of regional stability and security.”
