President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on his working visit to the northern province of Sughd, yesterday participated in the official opening ceremonies of economic and social facilities in the city of Guliston, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Owned by the Qairoqqum Carpets Company, a factory for production of patterned carpets was reportedly introduced into operation at a cost of 66 million somonis.

The enterprise's activity is focused on the production of import substitution products, and its annual capacity includes 2 million square meters of patterned tufted floor coverings.

The enterprise reportedly created 100 new jobs for local residents.

Until that time, 1.5 million square meters of carpets had been imported into Tajikistan per year. The launch of a new technological line at Qairoqqum Carpets allows fully satisfying the needs of the domestic market and at the same time to export this type of product.

Moreover, on the same day, the products manufactured at the Qairoqqum Carpets factory were presented.

Currently, the company produces carpets and floor coverings of different designs, patterns and sizes.

On March 29, Emomali Rahmon also attended an official opening ceremony of the renovated Bahor kindergarten in Guliston.

A two-story building of Bahor kindergarten was reportedly recommissioned during the festivities of the International Day of Navrouz.

It is worth noting that after Bahor kindergarten was recommissioned, the number of preschool institutions reached 11, one of which is the private one.  The enrollment rate of children in pre-school institutions in the city is almost 40 percent, and this process will be promoted in the future with the construction of new kindergartens.
