In Dushanbe, from September 1, the number of public transport units will increase by 20%, reported the press service of the State Budgetary Institution “Dushanbenaklietkhadamotrason”.

The decision was made in connection with the increase in passenger traffic due to the beginning of the school year. This practice has been in place for several years.

Currently, 305 buses run on the city's roads, and from September 1 their number will increase to 375 units, now there are 55 trolleybuses – their number will increase to 75 units.

As for minibuses, their number now stands at 950, and another 100 units will be added to it.

The number of taxis will increase from 3,200 to 3,350, that is 150 more cars.

It is expected that this amount of passenger transport will be enough to meet the needs of citizens.

At the same time, the ministry noted that if current measures are not enough to provide timely and comfortable services to residents of the capital, additional steps will be taken to increase the number of public transport.

Meanwhile, Dushanbe residents are already complaining about the lack of public transport on some routes. With the start of the school year, the situation may become more tense.
