Torrential rain on April 17 and 18 caused mudslides in some regions of Tajikistan blocking several roads in some parts, according to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.

On the night of April 18, mudslides, caused by heavy rainfall, blocked the road in the Labijar area of Sangvor district (Rasht Valley).  

Heavy rain on the night of April 18 caused mudslides, which blocked the road in Nulvand jamoat of Darvoz district in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). 

Specialized equipment and road service personnel have reportedly been mobilized to address the aftermath of the natural disaster, working to clear the roads.

No casualties or significant damage have been reported.

The emergencies Committee reminds that from April 18-19, heavy rains, thunderstorms, hail, and snow at altitudes above 2,000 meters are expected in Tajikistan.  In some regions, there may be river water levels rising, landslides, and flooding.

Due to the intense rainfall, accidents on highways, flooding of settlements and roads, power line damage, and falling trees may occur.

The Emergencies Committee urges citizens to follow safety measures, avoid mountain roads, and stay away from dangerous areas.  In case of emergencies, please call numbers 112 or (+992) 938802819, 2231311..
