Tajikistan’s privately-owned air carrier, Somon Air, has announced the expansion of its flight program on the Dushanbe–Munich route.  Starting May 7, flights will operate twice a week — on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

"The increase in the frequency of flights to Munich is part of Tajikistan’s state program to develop civil aviation, aimed at expanding international air connections and strengthening ties with foreign countries.  This decision also reflects the airline’s strategic course to expand its international route network and strengthen the air bridge between Tajikistan and Europe," said Somon Air Director-General Abdulqosim Valiyev.

According to him, as part of this strategy, Somon Air is promoting its services at key international platforms.

"In particular, annual participation in the major tourism exhibition ITB, held in Germany, allows us not only to establish new partnerships in the European market but also to present Tajikistan as a promising travel destination.

We strive to provide our passengers with maximum comfort and flexibility in planning their trips. Increasing the number of flights to Munich will undoubtedly be in high demand both among our compatriots living and working in Germany, and among foreign citizens, tourists, business travelers, and those visiting friends and family," he added.

Departures from Dushanbe are scheduled at 00:10, and from Munich at 17:00 (local time).  Flights are operated on Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft.

Tickets are already available on the airline’s official website www.somonair.com, in the mobile app, and through partner agencies.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.

Somon Air is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).  Somon Air's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 family aircraft.

The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet, and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the UAE, Turkiye, China, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iran, India, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
