The telecommunications industry in Tajikistan has generated more than 1.1 billion somonis (more than US$105 million) in revenue over the first three months of this year, marking a 4% () 140 million somonis increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

Private telecom operators have reportedly led the growth, reporting about 995 million somonis (nearly US$95 million) in income — a 6.1% rise year-on-year.

Meanwhile, revenues for the national operator Tajiktelecom, the state postal service Pochtai Tojik, and related agencies declined slightly by 1.6% to 62.6 million somonis.

As of April 1, the country had 8.3 million mobile subscribers, with 5.3 million classified as active users.

Although recent internet user data is unavailable, figures from January 1 indicate around 4.9 million internet users nationwide, of which 4.7 million accessed the internet via mobile devices.

The telecom sector remains one of the best-paying industries in Tajikistan, second only to banking sector.  In March, average monthly salaries for telecom workers reached approximately 5,500 somonis (around US$525), nearly double the national average wage of 2,800 somonis.
