On Friday June 20, President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali officially opened the new Diagnostic, Treatment, and Training Center of Tajik National University, located within the university's student campus, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

A milestone for higher medical education

The center was reportedly built in honor of the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s state independence, as part of President Rahmon’s educational development agenda.  Construction began in 2023 and adhered to modern industry standards, overseen by the private construction firm Faizi Javoni.

The facility stands on 0.83 hectares of land, with a five-story building (plus a basement) occupying 3,680 square meters.  The surrounding 7,000 square meters have been landscaped, paved, and greened for an accessible and welcoming environment.

Equipped for modern medical training and services

Inside the center are: a 60-seat conference hall; 61 specialized work offices; fully equipped diagnostic rooms for X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound; medical offices for infectious disease, dentistry, urology, surgery, anesthesiology, and blood collection; and biochemical diagnostics labs, a pharmacy, and preparation laboratories

The upper floors host clinics for allergology, hematology, gynecology, ENT, internal medicine, general practice, neurology, pediatrics, endocrinology, and ophthalmology. The center can simultaneously serve up to 300 individuals, including university staff, faculty, students, and external patients.

Education and innovation under one roof

Specialized units include: a herbal pharmacy; a lab for preparing medicines based on prescriptions; and eight lecture halls and practical workspaces

These facilities will serve as a vital training hub for students from the university’s medical, pharmaceutical, chemical, and biological faculties, strengthening their practical skills and professional readiness.
