A Memorandum of understanding between Iran and Tajikistan in the field of sports and youth development was signed in Tehran. The document was signed by Chairman of the Committee on Youth and Sports of the Republic of Tajikistan Zulfikor Gulakhmadzoda and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs of Iran Ahmad Doniyamali.

The purpose of the agreement is to intensify sports and youth exchange between the two neighboring countries, as well as the implementation of joint programs that promote the development of professional sports and youth policy.

The document provides for the exchange of experience, joint programs and cultural and sports cooperation between the countries. The signing of the Memorandum was an important step in formalizing intentions to expand cooperation and accelerate the implementation of initiatives envisaged in the document, with an emphasis on mutual benefit.

Zulfikor Gulakhmadzoda arrived in Tehran at the invitation of Ahmad Doniyamali, accompanied by a delegation of officials in the field of sports and youth. A solemn meeting of the delegation took place on August 24, 2025 at the Imam Khomeini International Airport, where the parties expressed mutual gratitude and confirmed their readiness to strengthen friendly relations between Tajikistan and Iran.

During the talks, Doniyamali stressed Iran's high interest in joint projects, noting Tajikistan's successful experience in judo, boxing and organizing international sporting events, as well as the country's potential in youth development. He stressed that cooperation will be based on common cultural and linguistic ties, creating a solid foundation for partnership.

In turn, Gulakhmadzoda invited the Minister to visit Tajikistan in the near future, which symbolizes the willingness of both countries to deepen bilateral relations. The parties discussed the organization of an exchange of experience between sports federations and youth associations, the development of cultural and information cooperation, as well as the promotion of programs for the improvement and involvement of youth in sports.
