On September 30, President Emomali Rahmon paid a working visit to Fayzobod district, where he inaugurated several new facilities and reviewed the region’s socio-economic progress, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

The visit began with the opening of a new State Flag Square, where a 55-meter-high flagpole was installed.  The national flag displayed measures 14 by 7 meters.  The square also features a newly unveiled 7-meter-tall statue of Ismoili Somoni, the founder of the Tajik state.

President Rahmon also inaugurated the new headquarters of the ruling People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan (PDPT) in Fayzobod, along with the district’s new education department building.

The district’s new education department houses 15 office rooms and a 100-seat conference hall.  Construction of the building provided 100 temporary jobs for local residents.

A new settlement for 90,000 people

During his visit, the president was introduced to the master plan for the new settlement of Vashgird.  Spanning 163 hectares, the development is designed to accommodate up to 90,000 residents.  The project includes multi-story residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, and administrative facilities. Construction will be carried out in two phases and will incorporate traditional Tajik architectural elements and quality materials.

Rahmon also laid the foundation stones for a new school designed for 1,280 students and a kindergarten for 240 children in the village of Sheramon.

Healthcare Infrastructure expansion

As part of the visit, the president remotely inaugurated a new health center in the village of Safedkhok.  Built on an area of 760 square meters, the facility is equipped with modern diagnostic and emergency medical equipment. It will create 12 jobs for local medical staff.

In Fayzobod’s administrative center, a new Medical-Diagnostic Center was also opened. The center has 214 beds and is fully equipped to provide diagnostics, emergency care, surgery, maternity services, and intensive care. It currently employs 30 specialists, most of whom are local women.

President Rahmon praised the quality of the completed work and emphasized the importance of such developments in improving the quality of life and well-being of the region’s population.
