On Tuesday October 21, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the heads of delegations from the prosecutor-generals' offices of CIS member states, who gathered in Dushanbe for the 35th session of the CIS Coordinating Council of Prosecutor-Generals, according to the Tajik president’s official website. .

During the meeting, President Rahmon praised the development of a robust framework of prosecutorial cooperation among CIS countries over recent decades. He emphasized that this collaboration plays a critical role in upholding the rule of law and effectively combating crime across the region, according to a statement from his press service.

Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the recent CIS Heads of State Summit and the "Central Asia–Russia" meeting, both held in Dushanbe. A key achievement of the summits was the adoption of a new three-year regional cooperation program to combat terrorism and extremism from 2026 to 2028.

He asserted that implementing this program would contribute to peace, stability, and security throughout the region. Rahmon also reaffirmed Tajikistan’s active role in regional and international efforts to confront terrorism, extremism, and other transnational threats.

Highlighting the role of prosecutors, the Tajik leader stressed their importance in shaping the legal foundations of intergovernmental relations and coordinating law enforcement actions, particularly in fighting corruption, extremism, and terrorism.

He called for deeper cooperation among CIS prosecutorial bodies and with international institutions to counter transnational organized crime. Special emphasis was placed on the joint fight against cybercrime and the need to prevent terrorist and extremist groups from exploiting modern technologies and artificial intelligence.

President Rahmon concluded by expressing confidence that the outcomes of the 35th session of the CIS Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General would further strengthen regional cooperation and the exchange of best practices.
