Pre-New Year food fairs have opened in the capital of Tajikistan, offering residents the chance to purchase essential products at affordable prices.

The fairs began operating on December 21 and will be open daily until December 31, 2025. The trading platforms were organized under a decree from the Dushanbe Mayor, Rustam Emomali. The fairs are located at several key points around the city:

·         the left side of the parking lot near the Mehrgon bazaar;

·         the parking lot near the Sino district government building;

·         a space next to the Sakhovat bazaar;

·         an area near the Kuruishi Kabir Park, next to the Sadriddin Ayni Opera and Ballet Theater.

An official source within the Dushanbe Administration says the Mayor Rustam Emomali instructed the heads of the city districts to ensure the markets are well-organized and to establish cooperation with the relevant city structures for smooth operation.

The main goal of the event is to provide the city’s residents with quality products at reduced prices, helping them save on purchases ahead of the New Year holidays. These food markets, offering essential products, have become a tradition in Dushanbe before major holidays. Shoppers can find a wide variety of goods, including rice, beef, potatoes, onions, vegetable oil, and other agricultural products.
