DUSHANBE, February 28, 2014, Asia-Plus — The Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan has begun to renew its staff.
The Customs Service has recently announced the contest to fill more than 60 vacant positions.
Ms. Khumayro Ashour, a spokeswoman for the Customs Service, says the Service takes on employees on a competitive basis for the first time.
“Prerequisites for getting these positions include legal or economic education, knowledge of Tajik and Russia (knowledge of English is desirable), and computer skills,” she said, noting that the candidate’s age should not be above 35 years.
Graduates of Russia’s Customs Academy, who studied at the Academy on the basis of agreements between the customs services of the countries, and the law enforcement officers are accepted to work with the Customs Service without participation in the contest, Ashour added.
We will recall that by president’s decree published on November 30 Rustam Emomali, the eldest son of Tajikistan’s president, was appointed new head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, replacing Gurez Zaripov, who was retired for age reasons.
Rustam Emomali, 26, had previously served as deputy head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
Rustam Emomali was born on December 19, 1987. At a mere 23 years of age, he has served as a member of Dushanbe’s local council (Majlis), as deputy chairman of the Youth Union of Tajikistan, as vice-president of Tajikistan’s Football Association, and as the head of the Small and Medium-Sized Business Support Agency at the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management.
In late February 2011, Rustam Emomali was appointed to head the Customs Service’s smuggling-busting department. Afterwards he was appointed deputy head of the Customs Service.
He is one of founders and owners of Tajikistan’s Istiqlol Club. In the recent past, he played soccer for this club.
